Science Photo Library moves into the natural world

Over
1400 pictures capturing the delights, wonders and intricacies of the natural
world have been brought together in a new nature catalogue from the Science
Photo Library.
The new collection covers the full diversity of nature and wildlife photography
- from dry, inhospitable landscapes to colourful portraits of indigenous peoples;
from animals at their most wild to the friendliness of domestic pets; from
birds in full flight to fish in the deep sea.
Among the 200-plus pages of stunning shots are a number from American Art
Wolfe, widely recognised as one of the world's premiere wildlife and landscape
photographers, whose work has been described as revealing "a soulful and profoundly
poetic vision of the world".
The new collection is available online at www.sciencephoto.com together with
over 2000 of the Science Photo Library's top science images. SPL's pictures
are renowned for their quality and are accompanied by detailed captions.
Maria Storey, marketing and communications director, says: "Whether you are
looking for a classic stock shot of a tiger pouncing for the kill, or you
just need to be sure that you have got the right species of Pongo pygmaeus
(orang-utan), then we are the first place to call."
